Empowerment experiential workshops

Picture
Mission Statement
We empower under represented individuals to develop their self-esteem. As a result, they form more positive relationships with themselves and those around them and grow belief in their ideas and future plans. By growing their self-esteem we equip them with the knowledge that ‘they are good enough’ and give them the platform to realise their aspirations.

What we do
We offer fun and empowering experiential workshops that provide a safe space in which to grow the self-esteem of participants. These bespoke workshops are designed around the specific life experience and needs of varying groups. We address issues within the group which have contributed to the loss of self-esteem hampering the chances of individuals being able to make their aspirations and plans a reality. The aim of the workshops is to enable each participant to feel comfortable and more powerful within their authentic self and to find the knowledge and strength to believe that ‘they are good enough’.

How we do it
The workshops use non-threatening experiential theatre-based and person centred exercises. Within the safe group environment of shared common issues, individuals are encouraged to inhabit and celebrate their authentic self in an arena where their voice and ideas are valued, encouraged and celebrated.

Experiential exercises would include:
  • Group bonding, finding a sense of community, you are not alone
  • Encourage self introduction to the group, story of my name, this is me
  • Getting to know each other and sharing common ground
  • Status exercises, change yourself to change others, you have more power than you know
  • Listening and finding common ground
  • Unpicking themes around interviews and talking to people, be yourself, everyone else is taken

Who we help
The nature of our workshops are bespoke and organic. They can be tailored to all needs, this means that we are able to work with a variety of charities who help: the homeless, victims of abuse, carers, mental health, LGBTQ community, youth groups, unemployed, 50yrs+, serving offenders and ex-offenders.

Lucie Fitchett – Workshop Lead
Lucie trained as an actress and has worked extensively in all sectors of the industry. She founded an Arts Council funded middle/large scale theatre company whose first production was invited to The Royal Shakespeare Company visitors’ season in Stratford-upon-Avon, and also founded and co-run a bespoke training and learning consultancy specialising in experiential empowerment work. She has headed up the first year Acting training at Chichester University and works privately coaching and teaching acting. Helen Smith – Workshop Facilitator
Helen is a writer and an award winning actor (The Arts Council). She is passionate about helping people find their truth and happiness. Low self-esteem is something that she has had to battle with her whole life. Her academic achievement was poor and had a huge impact on her confidence, self-esteem and self-worth. She returned to her studies as an adult and successfully completed an access course, gained a CIPD qualification and an acting diploma. She has recently completed a CPD certificate in self-esteem and assertiveness. In having to step out of her comfort zone, learn new skills and pursue her dreams, she understands that it is never too late to grow and be who you want to be.
